To Carol Boshier,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

Any information regarding Marie Rose Williams* who was orphaned in

mid 1870s; brought up and educated in a convent in Burma ( possibly

Mandalay or Akyab would be gratefully received.

Marie Rose was the daughter ( b. 1875) of Clement Williams a well

known Mandalay entrepreneur who died in 1879. Allegedly after

education in a convent she became a teacher in Akyab where she

married Alexander.E.T Periera in 1897 in Sacred Heart Church Akyab.

Information is sought about her early years.

* Birth name may have been Burmese- name Marie Rose given by convent

sisters. Mother name Manng Way

Maybe I can help a bit.
