To Sharon Piddock,|
I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:
Eveline Eleanor Norma Hesse married my Grandfather on April 21st in 1923 at Maymyo. He was Joseph Henry Piddock (born in Wolverhampton Staffordshire) aged 22 in the 1st Bn South staffordshire Regiment at Maymyo. She is described on their marriage certificate as Eurasian. She was 18 and her father is listed as John Charles Hesse deceased Inspector of Police. They were married at the Baptist Chapel. Grandad married my Nan in 1927 and he was listed as a widower on that marriage certificate. So I would appreciate any information as to what may have happened to Eveline as it seems very sad that they were only together for a short time. Thank you Sharon.
