I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

Subject my uncle Ken. Edmund Kenneth Buck Occasionally sign\bed as

Edmund Buck. Was married to Marjorie Buck nee Lunt, 1937 Lverpool my

mothers sister. He was a member of the Liverpool Kings Rifles. 1940.

living with his wife when on leave at 7 Finchley Road Anfield

Liverpool 4 Lancashire England. Left for India on the SS Oronsay

7th December 1941 For Bombay India. Calling at FreeTown for supplies

and Fuel and then Durban to tranship a board SS Duches of Athol.

After a w hil at sea the ship had engine problems and returned to

Durban. They then transhipped again to the M/V Andes. Arriving at

Bombay.

He came through the campaign and ended up with the SAS 1 or 2

regiment. When he got back to Liverpool his wife had taken off with

another man and my mumhad to meet him. He stayed in Liverpool 6

months or so to sell their house and divorce papers, then he moved

to London. He did marry again toa lady who had lost her husband and

they had a son. He died in 1977 and his wife 1979. Have tried to get

in touch with his son but he has not replied. Had a few telephone

calls from London. But if it was his son he were very evasive. I

hopre i may be lucky as my best used by date is on the Horizon.
