To Sarah Smith,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

John Edward Smith, son of Leut. Col Charles Smith of 8th Reg. Madras,

Native Infantry. He went to Burma c. 1900 had at least 3 children with

Burmese woman known as Ma sein, they were Annie Smith b. 1901 and

Vincent Norton Smith b.1906 and Margaret b. 1908, Meiktila. His

children were christened in Rangoon in 1914. He lost touch with his

siblings in Bangalore, India and None of them ever heard of him again.

After partition his siblings emigrated to Canda.

Maybe I can help a bit.
