To Dennis Dey,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

I'm looking for my father's (Dr Chandra Coomar Dey's) side of the

family: 5 names:: (1) Peter Dey, the youngest brother, a

businessman, (2) Surya Coomar Dey (possibly a businessman but could

also be a doctor). (3) Naba Coomar Dey, a doctor and head of the

Rangoon Mental Hospital in the 60's. There was one other brother::

(4) Raj Coomar Dey who died in WW2. (5) My father's name is Dr

Chandra Coomar Dey and he was in the Dept of Eye & ENT Rangoon

General Hospital. My father left Burma in 1965 and lost touch with

the Burmese side. If any light can be thrown on this family, I shall

remain ever grateful. They were all born in Burma and the family had

some connection to an Ava Book House that used to be a meeting place

for Indians. Their father, SN Dey, seems to have been a timber

merchant. His other brother PK Dey was the first FRCS in Burma

Maybe I can help a bit.
