To Rose Van Camp,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

I am looking for people who grew up in Rangoon before 1942 or may have known (about) my mother Patricia Duarte, who left when she was 16. Her father was Dr. Armand Duarte of Goa and her mother Dr. Rose Duarte, née Aaron, from the Jewish community of Rangoon (parents: David Aaron and Hannah Solomon).

Any memories, information etc. about my mother and grandmother are welcome. Dr. Rose Duarte worked in the Dufferin Hospital in the 1920s and in the Ramakrishna hospital in the 1930s. She also helped those wounded in the war in 1942.

My mother, Patricia Duarte, became a piano teacher and was 16 when she had to leave Rangoon for Karachi in 1942. Thank you for your help, Rose Van Camp, Belgium

Maybe I can help a bit.
