To Alison Bennie,|
I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:
Looking for any information about a John Bennie born in 1864 In Scotland but went to Burma - Maymyo potentially - around early 1900's. Possibly worked for the Burma Gold Dredging Corporation. Rescued a young woman from the Irawadday River at Mankin, Burma on 25th June 1913 for which he received a Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal. May have married a Burmese woman (possibly Shan) "Mee Noung" and had children: Peter Bennie, Violet Bennie and Ian Bennie...maybe more, not sure. Died around 1939, not sure from what or under what circumstances. Looking for any information or connections about him.
