To Maya,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

I am looking for my mother's family. Her father left Malaysia for Burma with my mother's siblings when my mother was born. My mother was born in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia on July 25th 1939. Her name is Patricia Violet Edwards. My grandfather's name was Paul Edwards. He was Anglo- Burmese and he married my grandmother whose name was Lili Thomas. She was Indian and her family was from Banglore. She passed away in Singapore. I am unsure of the timeline of her passing. Lili Thomas' father (my great grandfather) was a Doctor in Kedah, Alor Setar, on Jitra estate. My mother recollects that my grandfather was from a border town/village in Burma and that she was the eighth child and youngest. She named her siblings accordingly - William, Frankie, Joyce, Nancy, Elisie, Susie (passed away at the age of 12 in Alor Setar), and Stanley (passed away at the age of 5).

My mother believes that her siblings may still be alive in Burma (Myanmar). I am her 4th child. She has 5 children (2 boys and 3 girls). She has 13 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. They all live in Singapore.

If anyone knows of this family please get in touch with me.

Thank you

Maybe I can help a bit.
