To Carronne Soerring,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

Looking for information/relatives of Ma Tin Thein Tanwar, also known as Queenie

Pillay/Pillai, who lived in or around the Mandalay area, born around 1910. Her father was

Burmese, at one time living in London with her mother, who was of English descent. She

also had a brother, and numerous nieces and nephews, who I believe all returned to

Burma.

She moved back to Mandalay around 1933 and had two children before leaving for India

and living briefly in Lucknow. She returned to England around 1936-37.

Any information on Queenie/Ma Tin Thein or her relatives would be gratefully received, as

apart from the above information very little is known about her time outside the UK.

Maybe I can help a bit.
