To Joanne Parsons,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

Hi I am looking for relatives of Herbert Jules Wall - my father and his father Herbert Edward - they were in Burma in the 1930s and maybe earlier than that as my great grandfather Richard was also there

What we do know is that Herbert Edward (Bertie, as he was know to friends and family) was working in Rangoon at 379 (New) Dalhousie Street as an Income Tax Officerr in 1931. His elder brother William also worked in the same building as an Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax at the same time.

My father Herbrt Jules was born in 1934 and had sisters Betty, Lorna and Susan and a brother Michael - they were evcuated to Simla in India in 1942 and left Burma in May 1948 From what I've been able to gather, my fathers grandfather Richard, was married to Hpwa Sair (sometimes written as 'Ma Pwa Say')

She had a sister U Lu Gale.

U Lu Gale had a daughter Daw Ma Ma Gale married to U Htein, who live/lived in a place called Shwe-pan-taw.

They have a daughter Daw Knin Myint married to U Maung Maung who we think lives in Rangoon.

I am looking for any relatives still living in Burma
