To Rose Wicks,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

I am searching for details of my maternal grandmother Q "Lucy" Olga Davidson who was brought up in Burma during the late 1800's and early 1900's. Her father was a British miltary man who retired to live in a hill ststion in Burma and married a local woman who was Lucy's mother. Other than that I have no details of Lucy's mother at all

"Lucy", which may have been a pet name, trained as a nurse before her marriage but again I have no details of where she trained. My grandmother Lucy then went on to marry Edward Herbert West Martindell ( 1866 - 1933 ) who entered the Indian Civil Service in 1890 and was Chief Engineer and Secretary of Public Works in 1916 and became a member of the Burmese Legislative Council in 1919. He retired in 1921 bringing Lucy and his 2 young daughters ( my mother and aunt ) back to live in Ashrord in Kent.

I would be grateful for any details relating to either Lucy or Edward while living in Burma, but particularly Lucy and her father of which I can find little information.

Maybe I can help a bit.
