To Mark Righton,|
I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:
Joshua Antram married Elizabeth Potts at St. Dunstan's & All Saints in Stepney on 8.11.1823. They had 6 children: Joshua Thomas, Elizabeth, Charles Henry, Amelia Patience, Simon Edward and John Potts, all born in Stepney. Joshua was a Merchant Navy skipper and the family emigrated to Burma in the period 1841-7. Any information would be welcome; the names of the partners of Charles and Edward, etc. Charles was in the postal service, Edward with the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company and John in the Indian Navy. Elizaeth married Robert Sheppard and died in Moulmein. Amelia's history is unknown. Joshua drowned in Rangoon 1854 and John and mother Elizabeth returned to England in 1861-3.
