To Judy Mills,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

I am trying to find out more information about my great grandfather John James Hart. He was born in 1852, and married Mary Ann FOX in Rangoon in January 1879. Later records of his presence in Burma include baptisms of daughters Jessie Louisa (1880, Rangoon), Elizabeth Gertrude (1882 Rangoon), and son Arthur Benjamin Hart 1899, Mandalay). John James Hart worked for Burma Railways, and is recorded as an overseer on his marriage certificate. I believe he was also an engineer involved in the construction of the Rangoon to Mandalay railway.

I would be very thankful for any further information.

Original enquiry posted on 21 Jul 2003, one response but no e-mail address included so I could not contact the responder.

Maybe I can help a bit.
