To Linda Russell,|
I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:
I would like to trace any one related to my grandfather Sam Nadir who was born
in Rangoon in 1898. He joined the Merchant Navy at the age of 18
and I know of one vessel that he served on was the Athenci from 3rd November 1919 to 15th April 1920 as an assistant cook and came to England
and settled in South Bank, Middlesbrough when discharged in 1922. He married and had 5 children, three of whom are still alive and has 26 grandchildren, of whom I am one. I would like to hear from any one who may have known my grandfather. I know he had brothers,
of which one of went to America.
