To Peter Burns,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

My mother was Beryl Pansy Davidson born April 1925 in Maymyo. She was the fourth child of 11 (8 girls and 3 boys) - 3 are still living. Her parents were Robert George Davidson born 1892 Sholapur, India and Florence Leonara Hutchinson Lopez born 1901 Yamethin.

Robert was the third of three sons to William Davidson (born 1856 Edinburgh)The other sons were William Hugh Davidson who married Adelaide the sister of Florence and James who died as a baby.

Beryl, three of her sisters and two of her brothers eventually came to live in England. Beryl married James Burns who served with the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry during WW2. They married in Maymyo in 1942. Her eldest three sisters all married soldiers as well. One sister Gladys died in Maymyo in 1952 aged 19 and another, Alicia died when she was one year old and is also buried in Maymyo

Does anyone have any links to this family? We are looking for relatives for the three who are still living - the youngest is 71 and the eldest is 84. They would love to hear about their family and family home

Maybe I can help a bit.
