To Hannah Mathison,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

Hello, this is Hannah Sheila Mathison from India.

My great grandfather was a British soldier in World War 2.
He was in Rangoon. Then he met my great grandma and they fell in love and married. She was from Madras,a place in the state of Tamil Nadu, in India. She was an Indian while he a Britisher. They had three sons, namely, James (the eldest), who is my grandpa, Jacob and Isaac. So my great grandpa, whose name is Mr. Mathison (I am not sure of the first name) he left for war and was lost. There was no contact from him and so assuming him to be dead, my great grandma came to Madras with her three sons and put them in a school meant for the children of British soldiers.

My great grandpa had a sister and parents. (This info was got from a photo we have). My great grandma didn't have any address to contact great grandpa's parents or anybody. But I know our relatives have to be in Britain (or somewhere). So I really hope someone from our famly in Britain will read this email and contact us.

Maybe I can help a bit.
