To Richard Boudville,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

Is your Dad or Grand-dad or Uncle or someone you know, in these photographs?

Taken in the Army during WWII years in India, with many Anglo-Burmese recruits. Some at Ahlone Power Station and Ywama Power Station before and after WWII.

These photos belonged to my father-in-law Lt/Capt/Maj R.M.Duffy 1907~1986. He joined the Army - Rangoon Field Brigade, Burma Auxiliary Force in 1941 His unit ended up in Upper Burma and they eventually regrouped in MHOW in India. We believe it later became the Burma Intelligence Corps attached to 20th Indian Div.

After WWII he returned to R.E.T.& S.Co Ltd Ahlone Power Station then retired in 1953. Later worked with R.E.S.B., built and became O.I.C. of Ywama Power Station 1953~1965

He migrated to Perth, Western Australia with his wife and 4 daughters in 1972. He died peacefully after being admitted to Hospital for the first time ever in his life, 1986.
