To Millicent Mary Spencer,

I am replying to your query for a lost person, which I saw on the Britain-Burma Society's Lost Relatives web page (http://shwepla.net/Misspers.mv). You said:

I am looking for information about and relatives of my grandfather Herbert Malcolm Nisbet who was born in Scotland in 1869. He was in charge of Insein Workshop Burma Railways Construction in 1891 (the year he married Helen A Pon Ma). He had a son, Egbert Peter Nisbet who was my father. My father and my brother Kenneth Andrew were killed by the Japanese in Burma while trying to escape to the Indian border and in search of me. They went the route towards the eastern side of Burma from Monwya. My first cousin, Virginia Magdelen Nisbet married Henri Lawrence Jones in 1912 at the R.C. Military Church, Cantonment , Rangoon. They had a son, Arthur Jones, who ran a secretarial college in Rangoon after the war. Herbert Malcolm Nisbet must have been Virginia Nisbet's grandfather as well.

Would any relations of the Nisbet family please contact us and call me or my husband, Dudley Spencer. We were interned by the Japanese in Maymyo, NE Burma.

Maybe I can help a bit.
